A funeral service will be held Tuesday for Andrew "Andy" T. Walko of Emerson Avenue, Farrell. He passed away unexpectedly at 11:47 p.m. Monday (5-13-13) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 44. Mr. Walko was born Sept. 27, 1968, in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand, a son of Anthony R. and Somsi Maliwon Walko. He was raised in the Shenango Valley and attended schools in both Sharon and Sharpsville. Mr. Walko worked at Sharon Fence for 14 years as a supervisor in its Wheatland location. Andy was loved by many and enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved to go fishing with family, barbecuing on his grill and rooting for his beloved New England Patriots and the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed dancing and spending time with his grandchildren, who will miss him dearly. His wife and best friend, the former Jennifer A. Verrill, whom he married July 11, 1998, survives at home. He also leaves: three stepsons, Joshua Verrill, Mercer; Nicholas and Bradley Verrill, both Farrell; his six grandchildren, Jasmine Verrill, Greenville; Joshua Verrill and Kelci Verrill, both Mercer; Sabrina Hovis, Farrell; Jayda Anderson, Sharon; and Xavier Verrill, Hermitage. He also leaves his father and stepmother, Anthony and Barbara Walko; three brothers, Patrick and Michael Walko; and Ronald Embrey; and a sister, Nancy Walko, all Texas; and many extended family members, who will also miss his smile. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in his memory, is asked to consider donating to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
