A memorial service will be held today for Andrew John Soakie of Addison Road, Masury. He passed away at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, in Orange Village Care Center, Masury, from complications of injuries received in an automobile accident that occurred more than 20 years ago. He was 56. Mr. Soakie was born June 17, 1957, in Sharon, a son of John Andrew and Ruth E. Dennison Soakie. He attended schools in Erie and South Carolina. Prior to his accident, Andrew worked in auto body repair and painting. He loved to work on cars and enjoyed drawing. He is survived by: his mother, Ruth E. Cannon, Masury; two sons, John A. Soakie and his wife Lisa, Covington, Ohio; and Andrew L. Soakie and his wife Lindsey, Marion, Va.; three sisters, Dawn Totten, Masury; Bonnie Rueberger, Hermitage; and Jayne Cannon, Farrell; and seven grandchildren, Skyler, Sierra, Andrew, Ainsleigh, Abigail, Ethan and Delaney. Andrew was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Cindy Gassner. Calling hours: There are no calling hours.
