Andrew Malenky of Hermitage passed away at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, in St. Paul's Home, West Salem Township, with his loving family by his side.  He was 92.

Mr. Malenky was born April 18, 1925, in Sharon, a son of John and Sophia (Magera) Malenky.  He attended Sharon High School and served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.  Andy retired in 1982 from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. where he was employed for 42 years.  He also worked for The Herald as a driver for more than 25 years, retiring from there in 1992.

He was a member of the Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage.  He was also a member of the Reynolds VFW, Post # 7599; and enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling.

His wife, the former Evelyn J. Hogue, whom he married July 10, 1948, passed away May 26, 2008.

Surviving are: a daughter, Melanie A. Rodgers, Vienna, OH; two sons, Douglas A. Malenky, Transfer; and Scott B. Malenky and his wife Geralyn, Hermitage; three grandchildren, Douglas Rodgers and his wife Tina, Howland, Ohio; Scott Malenky and his wife Kristin, West Middlesex; and Carley Malenky, Transfer; two step grandchildren, Jennifer Garon, Sharpsville; and Jamie Ford and her husband Scott, North Ridgeville, OH; 4 great grandchildren, Samantha and Alexis Rodgers; and Evalina and Nina Malenky; 7 step great grandchildren, Tarralynn and Michael Herman; Ashley and Abigail Garon; Alyssa Lawler; and Makenzie and Erika Ford.

Besides his wife, Andy was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Michael, Paul, John and George Malenky; and two sisters, Irene Malenky and Ann Gabriel.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's Home, 339 E. Jamestown Rd., Greenville, PA 16125.

There are no calling hours.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at a date to be announced in Glenwood Cemetery, Clark, Pa.
