Anderson 'Butch' Hines, 186 Sunset Drive, Hermitage, PA entered into eternal rest at 11:07 p.m. Friday (1-21-11) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System, following a brief illness. He was 90.
Mr. Hines was born April 3, 1920 in Gustavus, Ohio the son of Arthur and Hazel Marie Shaffer Hines. He was educated in Gustavus and was a longtime resident of Hermitage, PA.
Butch retired as a supervisor in 1980 from the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation where he was employed for 40 years.
He was a member of Holy Cross Orthodox Church, Hermitage. Years earlier he enjoyed bowling, stock cars and horses; most recently, he enjoyed visiting with friends and family.
His wife, the former Anna M. Mitru, whom he married in January 18, 1964, passed away August 21, 2000.
Surviving are: two daughters; Hazel Capko, Las Vegas, NV; and Mary Lynn Smith, Lake Worth, Florida; a son Larry G. Hines, Sr. and his wife Linda, Bristolville, Ohio; a special grandson, Larry Gene Hines, Jr., Greene, OH who helped care for him; two sisters, Louise Shaffer and Leila Stevens, both Cortland, OH; a brother Floyd Hines, Kinsman Ohio; six grandchildren, Larry Gene Hines of Greene, Ohio who helped care for him; Michele Hines; Michael, Johnny, and Christine Capko; and Wayne Smith; 12 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Butch was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Smith; two sisters Helen Fry and Ada Smith; three brothers, Loren, Martin and Howard Hines and three great grandsons.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday (11-5-11) for James E. Hines of 140 Boyd Drive, Hermitage, who passed away at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday (11-2-11) in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage, following an extended illness. He was 82.
He was Born on June 25, 1929 in Dunkirk, Maryland, the son of Joseph Patrick and Gertrude Stanton Hines.
He moved to Sharon at a young age and he attended Sharon High School.
Jim was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon. He worked out of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #47 where he finished with 57 years of service. He was a member and Past President of the former Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 197.
He belonged to the Reynolds VFW Post 7599 and was a life time member of the American Carpatho-Russian Citizens and Social Club, Sharon. A sports fan he enjoyed rooting for the Cleveland Indians and the Penn State Nittany Lions.
His wife the former Anna Mae Gula whom he married on August 25, 1950, survives at home.
He is also survived by his daughter, JoAnne Hines, Richmond, Virginia, his three Sons, James E. Hines, Jr., (Roberta) Long Beach, CA, David M. Hines and his wife Susan, Sharon, and Paul H. Hines and his wife Linda, West Palm Beach, FL; his two sisters , Rosemary Hollenbank and her husband Wick, Hubbard, and Patricia Bolchak and her husband John 'Jack', Howland, OH; three granddaughters, Ashlee and Karlee Hines, Michele Shifflett, and Tammy Guthrie, four great grandchildren, Corey and Samantha Guthrie, and Abigail and Andrew Shifflett.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph, John and Leo Hines.
