Amy Jo Johnson, 88 Mitchell Rd., Shenango Township, passed away at 11:57 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015, in her home, after a brief illness. She was 43. Amy was born October 25, 1970, in Farrell, a daughter of Lawrence R. and Mary Ellen Fair Swartz. She was a 1988 graduate of West Middlesex High School and earned her LPN license from the Mercer County Career Center. Amy was a private duty nurse and previously worked for 13 years as a nurse at Sharon Regional Health System. She will be remembered as a kind, caring, and determined lady whose children were the center of her life. Amy and her husband, TJ, loved riding their Harley Davidson with friends. She also enjoyed flower gardening and her dog, Harley. Surviving are: her husband, Thomas R. "TJ" Johnson, whom she married August 11, 1990; two daughters, Rebecca Marie Johnson and her fiancé Cody Corcoran, Transfer; and Ashley Lynn Johnson, West Middlesex; a son, Thomas R. Johnson, Jr., at home; her mother, Mary Ellen Gilmore, West Middlesex; her father, Lawrence R. Swartz, Hermitage; her maternal grandmother, Shirley Fair, Hermitage; a sister, Niki Schehl and her husband Timothy, Virginia; a brother, Larry Swartz, West Middlesex; her mother-in-law, Sarah Johnson, Brookfield; two nieces, Aleysha Schehl and Sara Louk; and four nephews, Christopher Schehl, Russell Johnson, II, Ryan Johnson and Joseph Louk. Amy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; maternal grandfather; and her father-in-law. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015, in the funeral home.
