Amelia J. Fedorko of Cohasset Drive, Hermitage, passed away peacefully Thursday (7-9-15) in the intensive care unit of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. She was 78. She was born April 7, 1937, in Sharon, a daughter of Alexander and Susanna Skourn Zeka. A lifelong area resident, she was raised in Sharon and graduated from Sharon High School. Prior to raising her children, she worked for the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. Amelia was a homemaker and lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, Sharon. She loved traveling with her husband and visiting local casinos to try her luck. Amelia loved when her family was all together, especially at the holidays when she loved to prepare large traditional meals. She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant sister. Her husband, William J. Fedorko, whom she married Nov. 21, 1959, survives at the residence. She is also survived by her daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Hacker and her husband David A., Sharon; two sons, William E. Fedorko and his companion Lianne Greer, Hermitage; and John P. Fedorko and his wife Dana, Pittsburgh; a sister, Evelyn Ziegler, Ellicott City, Md.; a granddaughter, Elena Hacker, Sharon; a great-granddaughter, Aralyn Bacon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved dearly. She also leaves behind her friend, companion and pet dog, Buffy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Mercer County Inc., 3005 E. Services: 11 a.m. Monday in Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon, with the Rev. Henry C. Andrae, pastor, as celebrant. A procession will leave for the church at 10:30.
