Amariah C. Emery of New Castle passed away tragically late Monday evening, October 15, 2018, in her home. She was 10 years old.

Amariah was born January 8, 2008, in Farrell, a daughter of Andre P. Currie and the late Nichole M. Pumphrey. She loved school and was currently enrolled as a 5th grade student at George Washington Intermediate School, New Castle.

Amariah was of the Christian faith.

An exceptional student, she enjoyed attending the Canes Program after school and assisting her friends and siblings with their homework. Amariah loved spending time with her friends and family, especially while swimming, playing outside and making slime. Her smile, laughter and strength will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are: her father, Andre P. Currie, Masury; four sisters, Zayah Pumphrey, Kiyairah Matthews, Amaris Currie and Tae'nya Pumphrey; three brothers, Andre Currie, Jr., Daquon Godfrey and Tre'I Pumphrey; paternal grandparents, Jeffrey Pumphrey, Sr. and Loretta L. Keck; maternal grandparents, Buster Currie and Sandra Currie; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made directly to the funeral home.

Calling hours will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday (10-21-18) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will be held privately.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
