Allen F. Symons, 83, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024, in his residence.

Mr. Symons was born November 1, 1940, in Grove City, a son of the late Howard and Myrtle (Minshull) Symons. He graduated from Union High School, Class of 1957, and would later attend classes at Youngstown State University.

Allen proudly enlisted and served in the United States Army Reserve during the 1970's. He would go on to work as a truck driver for Preston Motors Freight for over 40 years.

He was a member of the Johnson Club, and the Bessemer Rod and Gun Club. Allen looked forward to enjoying a cup of coffee with his friends at GetGo, Pizza Joes, and Neal's Harness Shop in New Wilmington. A family man, Allen especially enjoyed attending his granddaughter, Ally's, sporting events.

On May 22, 1971, he married the former Peggy Raub, and she survives at home.

Allen is also survived by two sons, Mark Symons (Carrie), and Russell Symons (Kaci), both of New Castle; two sisters, Shirley Cousins and Louise Llewelln, both of New Castle; and five grandchildren, Ally, Sidnye, Dawlson, Laney, and Marlee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Symons; and a grandson, Levi.

In keeping with Allen's wishes, there are no services.
