Alice M. Koss, 406 Thornton St., Sharon, passed away at 2:10 a.m. Sunday (4-10-11) in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage, where she was a resident for the past two months. She was 86.
Mrs. Koss was born March 13, 1925 in Farrell a daughter of Jacob and Katherine M. Besich Schmidt.
She was a lifelong area resident and a 1943 graduate of Farrell High School.
A homemaker, Alice worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. prior to her marriage.
She enjoyed crocheting and playing euchre.
Her husband, Ernest Fabian Koss, whom she married February 1, 1947, passed away November 1, 2009.
Surviving are: two sons, Keith N. Koss and his wife Vicki, Brookfield, Ohio; and Alan G. Koss and his wife Debbie, Hubbard, Ohio; five grandchildren, Lance Koss and Angel Owens; and Chris, Alan and Melodie Koss; and seven great grandchildren, Carter and Victoria Owens; Brady Koss and Londyn Koss; and newborn triplets, Payton, Presley and Piper Koss.
Besides her parents, Alice was preceded in death by a brother, Jacob Paul Schmidt.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday (4-12-11) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
