Obituary

Alice M. DeJulia, John XXIII Home, Hermitage, formerly Orangeville Road in the Patagonia section of Hermitage, passed away peacefully in the home at 5:10 a.m. on Friday (4-3-09) with her son at her side. She was 88.
Alice was born December 29, 1920 in Sharon, PA the daughter of Matteo and Louise Palumbo Rogers. She attended school in what was Known as Hickory Township.
Her husband Joseph Samuel DeJulia, whom she married November 26, 1939, passed away September 16, 1993.
Mrs. DeJulia was a life-long active member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon.
A homemaker, she worked for several years at the former Valley View Department Store, Brookfield. She also worked for over 20 years for the Board of Elections as a poll worker on election days retiring in 2003.
She was a member of the Patagonia Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters of America, Court 507, Sharon.
"Gram," as she was affectionately called by everone, was a generous woman who loved to cook, entertain and spend time with her family. She was a lifelong baby-sitter and her passion in life was a prepare dinners and to feed anyone who stepped through her door.
Surviving are a son Matthew DeJulia and his wife Janice, Hermitage; four grandsons, whom she and her husband helped raise, Anthony Joseph and his fiancé Nancy Sentelik, Matthew Edward and his wife Marla, Michael Darin and his wife Laura, and Jason Louis DeJulia and his wife Shannon, two granddaughters, Nicole Dranias and her husband Nick and Gina Gurska and her husband David, ten great-grandchildren, Izzy, Joey, Michael, Marissa, Louie, and Adriana DeJulia, Siena and Connor Dranias and Lexy and Matt Gurska, two sisters, Nancy Cerroni of Hermitage, and Mary Kresen, Sharpsville.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. DeJulia was preceded in death by a son, Louis Anthony DeJulia; a brother, Samuel Rogers; two sisters, Theresa Podonick and Dannie Griz and an infant grandson, Matthew Roger DeJulia.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday (4-6-09) in Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon, with Rev. Henry Andrae, pastor as celebrant.
Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage, PA
