Alice Maria Brodish of Hermitage passed away at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. She was 77. Mrs. Brodish was born June 8, 1936, in Wheatland, a daughter of Michael and Florence Sewell Schiller. She was a lifelong area resident and a 1954 graduate of Farrell High School. Alice married Cleon Brodish on Sept. 8, 1956. She was a waitress at the Italian Home in Farrell for 15 years and later employed for eight years in the bakery department of D'Onofrio's Food Center in Hermitage. Alice was a homemaker and a member of Grace Chapel Community Church, Hermitage. She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, neighbor and friend and will be missed dearly. Surviving are: her husband, at home; two daughters, Cindy M. Brodish, Masury; and Donna L. Brodish and her companion Gary Dufford, Sharpsville; her son, David F. Brodish, Masury; and Morgan, Garrett and Lindsey Dufford, all Michigan, whom she considered grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers, Paul Schiller and his wife Beverly, Sharon; and Michael Schiller, Masury; and several nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marlene Wolford; and a brother, Thomas Schiller.
