Alexis J. Evans, of West Middlesex, passed away peacefully at 11:05 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015, in her home under the care of hospice. She was 49. Alexis was born October 15, 1965, in Sewickley, PA, a daughter of Frank and Arlene Marie (Burrows) Stuart. She attended West Middlesex schools and was a former manager at the West Middlesex Tavern. Alexis enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to Cook Forest in the Alleghany Mountains, canoeing, 4-wheeling, cooking and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. She is survived by: a daughter, Rita N. Evans, and a son, John Calvin Evans, both at home; her fiancé, Rodney "Hot Rod" Root, also at the residence; her mother, Arlene Cameron, West Middlesex; her father, Frank Stuart, Ellwood City, PA; a sister, Nadine Carson and her husband Stephen, Sharon; two brothers, James Houston and his wife Vicki, Charleston, SC; and Jeff Houston and his wife Tina, Auburn, NE; and several nieces and nephews. Alexis was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristi Holt; and a niece, Teal Balach. There are no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by J.
