Alanea Mason

Alanea J. Mason, 73, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 15, 1952, a daughter of the late John and Jennie (Kress) Vaso of Brookfield.

A 1970 graduate of Brookfield High School, Alanea was also a devoted member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Farrell. She married the love of her life, Spiro Mason, on May 13, 1978.

Alanea was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Spiro Mason, with whom she shared many years of love and partnership. Together, they worked side by side at his oral surgery practice in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, until his retirement.

She is lovingly survived by her son, Johnathan Mason (Kate) of Moon Township; her daughter, Nicole Weir (Marty) of Murrysville; her cherished grandson, Mason Weir; her sister, Sherry Pavone (Richard); her nephews, Brandon Pavone, Brent Pavone, Peter Stanos, Steven Stanos, and Nick Stanos; and her niece, Artemis Anos.

Alanea found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved being outdoors in the sunshine, working outside, golfing, and spending time with her dogs. Above all else, she loved her family deeply and devoted herself wholeheartedly to those she cared for.

She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, kindness, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alanea’s honor to the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, 2599 Broadway Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.

Private funeral services will be held by the family. Alanea’s final resting place will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
