Obituary

Agnes C. Greene, 785 Spencer Ave., Sharon, passed away peacefully at 4:37 a.m. Saturday, (2-21-09) in the comfort of her home following an extended illness. She was 78.
A lifelong city resident, she was born in Sharon, August 12, 1930 the daughter of John A. and Margaret Mary Vaczi Wolfinger.
She was a member of Sharon High Schools graduating class of 1948 and was proud to have been a majorette.
She worked for the city of Sharon in the wage tax office and she also worked for J. C. Penney's in the 1970's and 80's at the Shenango Valley Mall.
She was a life member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, and enjoyed volunteering her time for the church food pantry.
Gram will be remembered for her love and devotion shown to her children and grandchildren.
Her husband of 56 years, Charles E. Greene whom she married on May 26, 1951, passed away on June 1, 2007.
She leaves her daughter Mary M. Shaffer and her husband Gerald, Hermitage; two sons Gabriel Greene and his wife Fran, Windsor CA; and James E. Greene and his wife Darla, Sarver, Pa; one sister Irene Cilas, Sharon; six grandchildren, Justin and Brandon Shaffer, Tyler, Alyssa, and Zachary Greene, and Kira Greene.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Robert and Paul Wolfinger.
A special thank you to all of our mother's caregivers both past and present. Your love, compassion, and patience were always so greatly appreciated. The family would also like to thank the nurses, and nurse aides of Sharon Regional Health System's Hospice and Palliative Care for making our mother so comfortable with their wonderful Care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Joseph Food Pantry 79 Case Ave. Sharon, Pa. 16146.
Calling hours: In keeping with Agnes's wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Services: A funeral service for family and friends will be held on Wednesday (2-25-09) at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rose Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Thomas Dugan, senior associate at St. Joseph's Church officiating.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
