Agnes Ference, 3245 Rosemary Lane, Hermitage, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Monday (1-11-10) at her residence following an extended illness. She was 83.
She was born on April 25, 1926 in Struthers, Ohio the daughter of Andrew and Mary Hritz Shevetz.
Mrs. Ference was a 1944 graduate of Struthers High School, Struthers, Ohio. At one time she worked for Alvin Jewelers, Youngstown, Ohio and in the jewelry department of the former Treasure Island, Hermitage. She also worked in her early years for the Packard Electric Company.
A homemaker, she was a member of Notre Dame Church, Hermitage. She enjoyed playing cards and over the years belonged to several lady's card clubs. She also enjoyed bowling with the St. Adalberts bowling league.
Her husband, John A. Ference, whom she married September 13, 1947, passed away on October 7, 1996.
She is survived by four children, twins, Rebecca Ference and Robert Ference both Hermitage, a son Richard J. Ference and his wife Geri, Hermitage, and a son Randall and his wife Susan, Transfer; two sisters, Helen Zipay, Masury, Ohio, and Margaret Matiscik, Youngstown; three grandchildren, Shawn Ference and his wife Maggie, and Ryan and Steven Ference and two great-grandchildren, Luke and Ellie Marie Ference.
