Adam J. Tishov, of Sharon, passed away early
Saturday
morning, January 20, 2018, in his residence. He was 92.
Mr. Tishov was born September 10, 1925, in Brookfield, a son of Adam S. and Elizabeth (Hausladen) Tishov. He was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Brookfield High School.
Adam retired as a letter carrier in 1980 from the United States Postal Service where he was employed for 32 years. He began his career in Hubbard, Ohio and retired from the Sharon Post Office. Adam was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon. He was also a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge 103; and the American Legion, Post 299, both in Sharon.
Adam was the leader and vocalist of the Adam Tishov Orchestra and a member of the American Federation of Musicians. In his youth, he often sang on the radio, traveled with Big Bands in Pittsburgh and Cleveland and performed in the St. Joseph's minstrels. Adam enjoyed gardening and owned and operated Lowlands Greenhouse in Brookfield, which he built in the 1950's.
Surviving are: his wife of 62 years, the former Joann Eskay, whom he married October 29, 1955; five children, John Tishov, of Brookfield; Denis Tishov and his wife Maureen, of Greenville, and their children, Marissa Baptiste and Macey and Kayleigh Tishov; Katherine May and her husband Bradley, of Sharon, and their children, Adam, Evelyn, Sarah and Elizabeth May; Ellen Kosick and her husband Thomas, of Grove City, and their children, Thomas, Katherine and Joseph Kosick; and Margaret Artac, of Sharon, and her son Patrick Artac; and four great grandchildren, Alixander and Benjamin Bates; Jay McKissick; and Roman Baptiste.
Adam was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary Ann Tishov; a sister, Isabelle Regginello; and a son-in-law, Gene Artac.
Calling hours will be from
4 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018
in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State Street, Sharon; and from
10 a.m.
until the time of the Mass on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, in St. Joseph Church,
79 Case Ave., Sharon

Funeral Mass will be
11 a.m.
Tuesday
, in the church, with Rev. Matthew Strickenberger, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
